About Most Wanted: Music

Most Wanted: Music (MW:M) is Berlin's premier music business conference and a rapidly growing European event attracting music and creative industry professionals worldwide. Organized by the Berlin Music Commission, MW:M strives to create the future of music and creative industries by fostering collaboration centered on innovative objectives and a fresh ethos.

The conference offers a rich program including keynote speeches, interviews, debates, interactive talks, workshops, and matchmaking events that address the most current challenges and opportunities in music, technology, and creativity. MW:M also features the LISTEN TO BERLIN: AWARDS, celebrating outstanding contributions to Berlin's music scene, the MW:M Club Festival showcasing international talents, and a wide array of partner events throughout the city.

MW:M and its Club Festival are produced by the Berlin Music Commission on behalf of the Senate Department for Economics, Energy and Public Enterprises, with co-funding from the European Union.

Role Overview

The social media marketing team promotes MW:M's inspiring program and commercial benefits, attracting participants, viewers, and partners. As the Social Media Marketing Manager, you will analyze target audiences and refine communication strategies across platforms such as Instagram and LinkedIn. You will innovate recurring content series that reinforce MW:M’s brand, maintain a dynamic social media calendar, and execute creative campaigns with measurable impacts.

You will be responsible for planning, creating, and sharing diverse digital assets including photos, videos, and short content. Coordinating with artists, speakers, partners, and internal teams, you will transform MW:M stories into compelling social content and manage live interactions during the festival. Tracking trends and platform changes, you will translate insights into fresh content ideas, contributing proactively to MW:M's overall success.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of three years’ experience in social media marketing and content production.
  • Strong passion for music, cultural sectors, creative industries, and digital communication channels.
  • In-depth understanding of current trends within music, technology, and creative industries.
  • Ability to think strategically and operationally, converting communication objectives into engaging content.
  • Proactive mindset with initiative to develop ideas independently.
  • Experience in both content strategy development and hands-on content creation.
  • Exceptional skills in visual communication, branding, typography, photography, and video editing.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of social media trends and platform-specific content adaptation.
  • Creative storytelling capabilities, especially around event speakers, artists, and program highlights.
  • Result-driven approach balancing creativity with efficiency.
  • Highly organized, detail-focused, and comfortable in fast-moving environments.
  • Independent, responsible working style with excellent communication skills internally and externally.
  • Fluency in both German and English.

  • Experience with event management in B2B and B2C contexts.
  • Background working with artists, creators, or speakers collaborations.

The workload is approximately 250 hours from early August through December 2026. The contract is freelance-based with compensation depending on qualifications and capped at €10,000. This publicly funded project is subject to budget constraints and may be canceled if bids exceed available funding.
