Role Overview

We are looking for a skilled Freelance Graphic Designer to join our vibrant team working on Play Alberta, a leading digital entertainment brand in Canada. This role involves designing engaging visuals across various platforms including emails, websites, social media, and the Play Alberta app. The designer will be responsible for refining game-provider materials into polished, brand-aligned creative assets that meet regulatory requirements while reflecting Play Alberta's distinct style and voice. This opportunity allows involvement in a fast-changing, regulated gaming market. Occasionally, the role will also support content management responsibilities to help facilitate smooth project workflows. The ideal candidate is self-driven, well-organized, and comfortable working remotely alongside marketing, creative, and content colleagues to produce impactful work.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of experience in graphic design and content management
• Proficient with Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop
• Strong grasp of visual branding strategies and design fundamentals
• Experience using content management systems and handling asset organization
• Competence with Microsoft Office tools such as PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams
• Remote working experience is advantageous
• Knowledge of HTML5 and content management platforms like dotCMS is a plus
• Ability to juggle multiple assignments effectively and meet deadlines
• Excellent communication and team collaboration skills
• Self-motivation and a proactive work ethic

Responsibilities

• Create visual assets for email campaigns, websites, social channels, paid advertisements, and other marketing efforts
• Convert game provider materials into refined, on-brand creative content that complies with Play Alberta’s voice and regulatory guidelines
• Download, sort, and prepare creative assets from game providers for marketing use
• Manage and update the creative asset database (Airtable) to maintain organized workflows
• Work collaboratively with marketing, design, and content teams to generate innovative creative approaches
• Contribute ideas in team meetings to improve campaign results
• Handle multiple projects simultaneously while adhering to quality standards and deadlines
• Provide occasional support for content management tasks to ensure smooth campaign rollout
• Influence the visual branding direction of Play Alberta during key growth phases
