Freedom to Speak Up Guardian

Overview

The University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a compassionate and approachable Freedom to Speak Up (FTSU) Guardian. This role focuses on supporting staff members to raise concerns, share ideas, and express their views openly in a confidential environment. By fostering trust and encouraging transparent communication, the FTSU Guardian contributes to creating a safer and more positive workplace.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist colleagues in voicing concerns, ideas, or experiences in a secure and confidential manner.
• Offer impartial and independent guidance to staff members who wish to speak up.
• Collaborate with leadership teams to ensure appropriate responses to raised concerns.
• Analyze cases to identify recurring themes and provide insights that facilitate organizational learning and improvement.
• Lead training sessions and awareness activities to promote a culture of open communication across the Trust.
• Generate reports and present findings to senior leaders and relevant committees.
• Support and expand the network of Freedom to Speak Up Champions within the organization.
