Role Overview

We are seeking enthusiastic, driven retail leaders passionate about developing others and interested in advancing beyond store management roles. This opportunity is to join Giant Tiger as a Franchisee in Training, a program designed to prepare future store owners to lead with vision and impact within the Windsor-Chatham area. Candidates should be entrepreneurial with a strong community commitment.

Responsibilities

  • Complete all assigned training modules and projects as part of the Franchisee in Training Program.
  • Engage in formal mentorship programs to build leadership and entrepreneurial capabilities.
  • Participate in hands-on learning experiences within various stores, shadowing current franchise owners.
  • Interact collaboratively with store staff and customers to understand operational and community dynamics.
  • Develop proficiency in managing store operations, team leadership, administration, reporting, and community engagement.
  • Be available for evening, weekend, and holiday work as required, with willingness to travel within the region including occasional overnight stays at the home office in Ottawa and other stores.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in Business Administration, Retail Management, Operations Management, or equivalent retail experience.
  • At least three years of retail experience, including a minimum of one year in a supervisory capacity.
  • Strong leadership skills with ability to adapt coaching styles to diverse team needs.
  • Proficient with basic computer applications and open to learning new systems and procedures promptly.
  • Excellent communication abilities, both written and verbal, with strong listening and dialogue facilitation skills.
  • Effective planning and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and projects efficiently.
  • Active involvement in community-oriented activities such as non-profit work, sports teams, or local groups.
  • For French-speaking provinces or regions, fluency in French is mandatory.

Additional Assets

  • Experience analyzing sales data and customer feedback to inform business strategies.
  • Knowledge of visual merchandising principles.
  • Familiarity with Workday or similar workforce management platforms.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and French is considered an advantage.

  • Competitive salary ranging from $74,500 to $111,800 based on experience and qualifications.

Workplace Details
