The Role

PX Health is hiring a Founding Head of Design to join the leadership team as one of the earliest core hires. This is a unique chance to define the product design direction from day one rather than stepping into an already established product.

The role is deeply hands-on at this stage. Most of your time will be spent in Figma, developing user journeys, prototypes, interfaces, and design systems while collaborating closely with the Founder, Head of Product, and Engineering team. As the company expands, this position will evolve from an individual contributor role into a leadership role responsible for building the Design function.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of the full end-to-end user experience across the PX Health platform.
• Design clear and intuitive AI-driven healthcare experiences for both web and mobile.
• Develop user flows, information architecture, wireframes, prototypes, and polished UI designs.
• Create and maintain the PX Health design system and component library.
• Design dashboards, AI workflows, clinician-facing experiences, patient journeys, and data visualisation interfaces.
• Partner closely with Product and Engineering to iterate quickly and release features.
• Carry out user research and usability testing to inform design decisions.
• Simplify complex healthcare and AI workflows into elegant and easy-to-use experiences.
• Support Engineering during implementation to protect design quality and consistency.
• Set up design principles, standards, processes, and documentation.
• Help shape the visual identity and overall product experience for PX Health.
• As the business scales, help hire and build out the Design team.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in Product Design, UX/UI Design, or digital product roles.
• A strong portfolio showing excellent user experience thinking and visual design ability.
• Advanced proficiency with Figma and other modern design tools.
• Background in building products from concept through to launch.
• Experience creating scalable design systems.
• Strong interaction design and user-centred design capabilities.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Comfort working in a fast-moving startup environment.
• An entrepreneurial mindset and enthusiasm for building from the ground up.
• Healthcare or digital health experience is a plus.
• Experience with AI or machine learning products is a plus.
• SaaS platform experience is a plus.
• Data visualisation experience is a plus.
• Startup or founding team experience is a plus.

Compensation and Terms

This is a founding team opportunity for candidates who are motivated by building a company from the ground up. During the pre-funding stage, compensation includes deferred payment that will be paid once PX Health secures funding, meaningful founder equity through a vesting agreement, and the opportunity to become an early shareholder.

After successful funding, the role is expected to move into a full-time salaried leadership position with competitive executive pay, benefits, and continued equity participation.
