Founding Chief of Staff

About the Role

Join one of Silicon Valley's most ambitious AI startups as a Founding Chief of Staff, based in Redwood City, California. This full-time position requires onsite presence five days a week. With a salary reaching up to $190,000 plus significant equity, this role places you as the CEO's closest operational partner, helping to build critical systems, streamline processes, and establish the operational rhythm necessary to scale the business successfully.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the CEO's operational right hand across diverse business functions.
• Lead customer success operations, conducting regular check-ins and coordinating with Product and Engineering to resolve issues promptly.
• Manage sales operations including maintaining accurate CRM data, generating pipeline reports, and preparing materials for client meetings and demonstrations.
• Oversee recruitment for non-executive roles through sourcing, coordinating interviews, and conducting initial screenings.
• Support the commercial team by organizing BDR meetings, monitoring outbound activities, and identifying opportunities for coaching.
• Create and implement AI-driven workflows and internal automation to eliminate repetitive tasks and enhance efficiency.
• Continuously identify and drive improvements in business processes as the company expands.

Candidate Profile and Qualifications

• Professional experience in early-stage startup operations, preferably with a background in consulting or investment banking, holding roles such as Chief of Staff, founder, or founding operator.
• Minimum of 18 months at a leading consulting firm (McKinsey, Bain, or BCG) or in a top-tier investment bank.
• A total of approximately 2 to 6 years of professional experience, demonstrating independent project ownership and leadership in fast-evolving environments.
• Proven ability to build and scale teams to support significant anticipated growth over the next 6 to 9 months.
• A strong AI-first mindset, with practical experience utilizing tools like ChatGPT, Claude, Zapier, or similar platforms to automate workflows and boost productivity.
• Exceptional organizational skills coupled with commercial insight, capable of switching seamlessly between strategic and tactical tasks.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Willingness to reside in the San Francisco Bay Area and work onsite in Redwood City throughout the workweek.
