Job description
Role Overview
This is a full-time, on-site position supporting cafeteria operations at a school in St. Johns County, Florida. The role centers on preparing and serving meals, keeping the work area sanitary and organized, and helping create a welcoming dining experience for students, staff, and visitors.
What You’ll Do
- Prepare and serve menu items in line with recipes, production records, and food safety expectations.
- Keep the kitchen, serving counters, and dining support areas clean and safe.
- Restock serving stations, salad bars, and milk coolers.
- Store food correctly, rotate inventory properly, and follow sanitation procedures.
- Serve meals courteously to students, staff, and guests.
- Receive deliveries and help sort and organize stock.
- Sweep floors, mop surfaces, and remove trash when needed.
- Follow all applicable local, state, federal, and company health and safety rules.
- Support teammates by covering tasks or shifts when required.
- Complete assigned reports and meet deadlines.
- Take on additional duties that help the kitchen team and school meal program run smoothly.
What We’re Looking For
Dependable people who work well in a team, are comfortable with repetitive routines, and enjoy serving a school community. Prior experience in food service or cleaning is helpful, but not required.
Work Conditions
This job requires being on your feet for the full shift and lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally. The work involves regular bending, reaching, walking, and hand use in a busy kitchen environment with moderate noise and frequent movement.
Schedule
Full-time hours are scheduled Monday through Friday, with occasional longer weeks. You may also be asked to take part in company events or meetings.
