Role Overview
This full-time Food Service Worker position is based at a school site in Auburndale, Florida. The role focuses on preparing and serving meals, keeping the kitchen and serving areas clean and orderly, and helping create a safe, welcoming dining experience for students, staff, and visitors.
The position is well suited to dependable team players who are comfortable with routine tasks, enjoy working with people, and want to contribute to a school community through daily meal service.
Key Duties
- Prepare and portion food according to recipes, production records, and safety guidelines.
- Serve meals to students, employees, and visitors in a courteous, professional manner.
- Keep the kitchen, service counters, and dining support areas clean and safe.
- Replenish serving stations, salad bars, and milk coolers as needed.
- Handle food storage, stock rotation, and sanitation procedures correctly.
- Assist with receiving deliveries and arranging inventory.
- Sweep, mop, and remove trash when required.
- Support coworkers, including stepping in for extra coverage or shift needs.
- Complete reports and other assigned tasks within deadlines.
- Take on additional responsibilities to help the kitchen team and school meal program run smoothly.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in food service or cleaning is preferred.
- Strong work ethic and the ability to collaborate effectively with others.
- Comfort with repetitive duties and working within a set routine.
- Basic math and computer literacy.
- Must be able to pass a background check and fingerprint screening.
- Reliable transportation is required.
- Comfortable working around children and contributing to a school setting.
- Professional, respectful, and inclusive approach with coworkers and customers.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for the full shift.
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
- Regular bending, reaching, walking, and frequent use of hands.
- Work takes place in a busy kitchen environment with moderate noise and continuous movement.
Schedule and Additional Information
The role follows a Monday through Friday schedule, with occasional extended weeks. Participation in company events or meetings may be required.
