Job Summary

The Food Service Worker is responsible for preparing, presenting, and serving food according to set standards.

Primary Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients by washing, peeling, cutting, and seeding fruits and vegetables.
• Measure and weigh specific food ingredients.
• Transport food items safely between workstations, stoves, and refrigerators.
• Store food following correct wrapping, labeling, and rotation procedures to maintain safety.
• Maintain cleanliness of work areas, equipment, and utensils.
• Distribute supplies, utensils, and portable kitchen equipment as needed.
• Use standardized recipes and production guidelines to ensure quality, appropriate serving temperatures, and portion control.
• Serve customers with a friendly and efficient approach while following established service protocols.
• Address customer concerns and escalate to supervisors when necessary.
• Follow company policies on service standards, inventory control, and cash handling.
• Adhere to all sanitation and safety regulations.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Schedule and Location

Positions are located at Merit Health Wesley in Hattiesburg, MS (5001 Hardy Street). Both full-time and part-time schedules are available from Monday to Friday, with hours varying and detailed during the interview process.

Requirements

• Prior experience in food service is preferred but not mandatory.

Compensation

Hourly wages range from $15.00 to $16.00.
