Role Overview
We seek a Food Quality Specialist to oversee food safety and quality assurance processes, ensuring that all inputs, final products, and production methods meet rigorous quality standards and legal regulations. This role champions food safety and quality throughout the organization.
Main Responsibilities
- Assist in executing preventive quality control procedures and compile daily quality metrics and key observations.
- Keep comprehensive records of quality inspections, statistical analyses, and related documents.
- Prepare weekly and monthly quality performance reports and scorecards.
- Conduct inspections following set protocols and report any quality-related issues.
- Supervise operations influencing product quality and food safety compliance.
- Apply preventive actions to reduce risks to food safety and quality.
- Ensure consistent completion and timely submission of audits, inspections, and quality activities.
- Carry out Supplier Quality Assurance audits and communicate results to pertinent stakeholders.
- Investigate consumer complaints and deviations, pinpoint root causes, and assist with corrective and preventive measures.
- Review production procedures to guarantee operational effectiveness and adherence to quality benchmarks.
- Support food quality projects, goals, and initiatives.
- Implement and uphold food safety programs such as HACCP, sanitation protocols, temperature monitoring, and cleaning schedules.
- Monitor production consistency and reliability by overseeing processes and finished goods.
- Ensure that all products and practices comply with local food safety legislation.
- Identify quality issues or recurrent problems and propose suitable corrective solutions.
- Educate teams on food safety standards and facilitate the enforcement of procedures that enhance operational efficiency.
- Maintain production areas in a clean and safe condition.
- Represent the company positively to employees, guests, partners, and the wider community.
- Guarantee products and workflows meet all legal and regulatory food safety mandates.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Holds a Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, Biotechnology, Biological Sciences, or related fields.
- Familiar with quality assurance principles and food safety standards.
- Knowledgeable about AIB International and BRCGS standards.
- Understands local statutory and food regulatory requirements.
- Has 3 to 4 years of practical experience in Quality Assurance and Food Safety within food manufacturing, central kitchens, catering, or food production sectors.
- Preferred experience in dynamic, high-volume food production settings.
- Preference given to candidates located locally; however, candidates from abroad may also be considered, subject to visa availability.
