Role overview
Wendy's in Penticton, British Columbia is hiring a food counter attendant for a temporary, full-time onsite role. The position involves supporting day-to-day food service, counter service, cleaning, and basic kitchen prep in a fast-paced restaurant setting.
Education and experience
No formal degree, certificate, or diploma is required. Prior experience is considered an asset.
Key duties
- Clean and disinfect dishwashing mats, carts, and waste bins or disposal units.
- Clear tables, trays, and chairs, and keep service areas tidy.
- Load bus tubs and trays for kitchen and service use.
- Return dishes to storage areas after washing.
- Refill condiments and other supplies at tables and service counters.
- Wash dishes and other items by hand, and sanitize them properly.
- Scrub pots and pans.
- Track the amount of food being used.
- Pack take-out orders and wrap food portions.
- Heat, finish, and prepare simple menu items.
- Serve guests at counters or buffet stations.
- Restock refrigerators and salad bars.
- Take customer orders.
- Use manual and powered equipment to clean, peel, slice, and trim food ingredients.
- Clean and sanitize kitchen areas, including work surfaces, cabinets, storage spaces, appliances, and equipment.
- Handle and store cleaning supplies safely.
- Receive, unpack, and store supplies in cold storage, cupboards, and other storage areas.
- Remove kitchen waste and garbage.
- Sweep, mop, wash, and polish floors.
- Wash, peel, and cut fruits and vegetables.
