Food Counter Attendant

About the Role

Rickys Group of Family-Style Restaurants in Whitehorse, Yukon, is seeking a full-time Food Counter Attendant. You will play an essential part in ensuring the daily functioning and cleanliness of dining and kitchen areas, while providing excellent service to customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Transport clean dishes, flatware, and other items to serving stations and set dining tables.
• Replace soiled linens and keep washing stations organized.
• Clean and disinfect items such as dish mats, utility carts, and waste units.
• Clear tables, trays, and chairs after customer use.
• Fill buspans and trays and operate both manual and automatic dishwashing equipment.
• Organize and store cleaned dishes appropriately.
• Refill condiments and necessary supplies at serving stations and tables.
• Hand-wash and sanitize dishes and kitchenware as required.
• Scrub pots and pans, and maintain cleanliness of the kitchen, including work areas and storage zones.
• Monitor usage and keep records of food inventory.
• Portion, wrap, and prepare basic food items, as well as serve customers at counters or buffet setups.
• Stock refrigerators and salad bars and handle customer orders efficiently.
• Utilize both manual and electric appliances to prepare foodstuffs.
• Receive, unpack, and store delivery items in appropriate storage locations including freezers and refrigerators.
• Dispose of kitchen garbage, sharpen knives, and maintain the cleanliness of floors.
• Wash, peel, and cut vegetables and fruit for kitchen preparation.

Work Conditions

• Engage in a fast-paced workplace setting with repetitive duties.
• Perform under time constraints and during busy periods.

Additional Information

• No prior experience is necessary; training will be provided to the right candidate.
• This is a permanent, English-speaking position.
• The standard workweek consists of 35 hours.
