Team Overview

The Asia Fixed Income Middle Office team plays a vital role in supporting Fixed Income trading desks throughout the region by handling trade processes and lifecycle management. This team works collaboratively with traders, sales, operations, and technology units to ensure efficient trade execution and settlement across various markets and depositories.

Position Summary

We are seeking an Associate to join the Fixed Income Middle Office team based in Singapore, replacing a previous member. This role emphasizes operational excellence in daily activities rather than managerial duties. The successful applicant will be responsible for independently and effectively managing trade support in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating comprehensive product and system knowledge across Asia Credit Developed and Emerging Markets Trading Desks and Fixed Income Cross-Product sales desks. The position requires ongoing communication with global teams and close coordination with Singapore and Tokyo teams to maintain cohesive regional coverage.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver complete trade support for Fixed Income products such as Corporate and Sovereign Bonds, Foreign Exchange (FX), Credit Default Swaps (CDS), and Total Return Swaps (TRS).
• Guarantee accurate and prompt trade capture, booking, and lifecycle updates using front-to-back office systems.
• Track and resolve trade anomalies, breaks, and settlement challenges across internal and external platforms.
• Collaborate with trading, sales, operations, and compliance departments to address discrepancies and mitigate operational risks.
• Assist in market expansion efforts including Northbound Bond Connect, China QFI Fixed Income trading, Latin American bond markets, and portfolio trading during Asia business hours.
• Manage documentation for onboarding counterparties and maintain standard settlement instructions (SSI).
• Participate in regulatory reporting, conduct reconciliations and control reviews, and contribute to user acceptance testing (UAT) of system projects when necessary.

Essential Qualifications and Experience

• Over five years of experience working within Fixed Income Middle Office, Trade Support, or Operations roles.
• Comprehensive understanding of fixed income and derivative products across bonds, FX, CDS, TRS, and repo markets.
• Strong familiarity with trade lifecycles, settlement processes, post-trade workflows, and operational risk controls.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with Power BI for data visualization and reporting considered a plus.
• Highly meticulous, resourceful, and capable of effective prioritization in high-pressure environments.
• Experience using key systems including Bloomberg TOMS, Murex, DTCC CTM, ALERT, and Fidessa CTAC.
• Outstanding communication abilities and proficiency in managing stakeholder relationships.
• Fluency in English is required; knowledge of Mandarin or Cantonese is beneficial due to regional coverage requirements.
• A proactive collaborator with a strong commitment to ownership and accountability.
