Role overview
Maybank’s Chief Investment Office is seeking a seasoned fixed income specialist to head its fixed income team. This position is centered on shaping meaningful fixed income perspectives and sector-level strategies that help clients navigate their investment decisions, while also supporting the bank’s broader commercial and strategic priorities.
Key responsibilities
- Guide the team’s fixed income research coverage and build sector strategy views.
- Own the quality of security selection outcomes and model portfolio performance.
- Play an active role in forming house views as part of the GWM investment committee.
- Share investment views and fixed income ideas with both internal stakeholders and external clients.
- Create high-quality written materials and presentation decks that communicate investment thinking clearly.
- Act as a Maybank representative in media engagements and client-facing events when needed.
- Align with business priorities and work with partner teams to help deliver shared objectives.
- Support the engagement and acquisition of important clients.
- Contribute to GWM targets for revenue, profit, and assets under management growth.
- Lead team initiatives that remove bottlenecks and improve productivity.
- Encourage and unite the team around common goals in an effective and collaborative way.
- Ensure the squad operates in line with Maybank’s compliance and risk requirements.
Skills and experience required
- At least 10 years of experience in the financial services industry, including a minimum of 7 years in a relevant investment-focused role.
- Strong command of global fixed income analysis, both top-down and bottom-up.
- Understanding of multi-asset allocation from both strategic and tactical angles.
- Ability to juggle several priorities using solid analytical and execution capabilities.
- Track record of identifying and launching initiatives that support business expansion.
- Strong professionalism, integrity, and ethical judgment.
- Excellent English writing, speaking, and presentation abilities.
- Additional language ability in Chinese, Malay, or Bahasa is considered an advantage.
Additional information
This role carries leadership responsibility for a fixed income squad within the CIO Office and requires close collaboration with investment, commercial, and client-facing teams. The position is based in Singapore and is full-time, onsite.
