- Manage fuel usage efficiently within safety limits and ensure the aircraft is operated in the most economical way possible during the flight.
- Verify that the assigned crew complete all pre-flight, in-flight, and post-flight safety, security, fuel, and transit checks, and take action when any irregularity appears.
- Work with maintenance engineers to confirm that the aircraft is fit for operation, escalate defects or technical concerns through the proper maintenance channels, and apply corrective measures without delay when appropriate.
- Ensure that all required records and operational documents are completed accurately and loaded as needed, including technical logs, journey records, boarding documents, and reports.
- Keep the operations manual properly distributed, maintained, current, understood, and followed by flight crew members.
- Stay current on legal and technical requirements from aviation regulators, Airbus, and any other relevant authority connected to flight operations and crew duties.
- Perform additional ground responsibilities, such as Safety Officer or Security Officer duties, when assigned by management and when allowed under the airline manual.
