Role overview
Chubb Fire & Security is hiring a service-oriented professional in New Plymouth to carry out fire protection and other compliance testing at customer sites. The position is focused on ensuring that inspections and testing are completed in line with both company requirements and New Zealand regulatory standards.
What the job involves
- Coordinating with customers to arrange testing times and helping with owner inspections when needed.
- Inspecting fire alarm systems, sprinkler systems, emergency lighting, and a range of other passive fire and compliance systems.
- Spotting faults or service needs and supplying enough detail for quotation preparation where necessary.
- Taking on additional duties as assigned from time to time.
What you need to succeed
The ideal candidate has experience in the fire sector, although this is not essential. What matters most is a technical way of thinking, strong customer service, good organisation, and the ability to plan work effectively. You should be able to use your initiative and keep work moving efficiently.
About you
- You are legally entitled to work in New Zealand.
- You can manage your time well and plan routes efficiently.
- You can produce written reports that are clear, accurate, and detailed.
- You work well as part of a team and contribute proactively.
- You keep your knowledge of New Zealand regulatory and industry standards current.
- You hold, or are able to obtain, NZQA New Zealand Certificate in Fire Protection Systems Technology (Testing) Level 3 or a comparable qualification.
- You have a valid driver licence.
- You are available to travel away from home when required, for about 3 to 4 days each month.
- You are comfortable using a mobile field service app to schedule work and manage jobs through to completion.
