Financial Accountant (Trading)

Role overview

An international financial services business is hiring a qualified accountant to strengthen its finance function. This position offers hands-on involvement in trading activity, financial markets, and sophisticated reporting processes, all within a busy and evolving environment.

What you'll handle

• Take ownership of financial reporting, including profit and loss and balance sheet review for regulated entities.
• Prepare monthly management accounts and reporting packs for senior decision-makers.
• Assist with statutory accounts preparation and the year-end audit cycle.
• Maintain inter-company accounting and carry out balance sheet reconciliations.
• Support fair value accounting and reporting of financial instruments in line with IFRS.
• Work closely with operational and business partners to provide financial analysis and insight.
• Contribute to process improvement, automation work, and strengthening of internal controls.

Candidate profile

• You must be a qualified accountant with ACA, ACCA, or CIMA credentials.
• At least 2 years of post-qualification experience, or equivalent relevant finance experience, is required.
• Strong capability in financial reporting and preparing accounts is essential.
• Experience supporting auditors and compiling audit working papers is important.
• Advanced Excel knowledge and comfort with finance systems are needed.
• Exposure to financial services, capital markets, investment management, or financial services audit would be an advantage.
• You should bring a sharp analytical approach, strong accuracy, and the ability to work effectively under deadlines in a team-based setting.
