Job Overview
The Senior Accountant plays a crucial role in guaranteeing the precision of financial records by overseeing the general ledger, steering the month-end closing activities, and upholding strong internal controls. This position demands a mix of technical proficiency and analytical abilities to aid in strategic decision-making and ensure adherence to regulatory standards.
Primary Duties
- Lead and coordinate the closing activities across month-end, quarter-end, and year-end periods.
- Create and evaluate intricate journal entries and reconcile balance sheets.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP regulations and applicable tax legislation in all financial operations.
- Organize audit preparations and act as the main point of contact for external auditing professionals.
- Develop precise financial reports, including variance analysis and budget assessments.
- Assess existing accounting methodologies to propose and implement more effective procedures.
Qualifications and Skills
- Possess a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Have between four to six years of progressive experience in corporate or public accounting.
- Holding a CPA certification or being an active candidate is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrate advanced command of Microsoft Excel and familiarity with ERP platforms such as NetSuite, SAP, or Oracle.
- Exhibit meticulous attention to detail, strong analytical reasoning, and effective communication abilities.
