Job description

Role Overview

Meta seeks a qualified financial accountant to join its International Statutory Controllership Team based in Dublin. This role demands deep expertise in IFRS, local GAAP, and multi-entity consolidation combined with experience or strong interest in integrating AI, automation, and modernized process design in accounting functions. Reporting to the EMEA Controller, the successful candidate will manage financial reporting and statutory compliance for a group of Meta's entities internationally while contributing to global initiatives to enhance controllership processes technologically.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the comprehensive financial reporting activities for assigned entities, including statutory financial statement development and auditor coordination to ensure accurate and reliable reporting.
  • Engage closely with local GAAP accounting at the entity level and support consolidated U.S. GAAP reporting processes.
  • Participate in global statutory controllership initiatives to establish standards, improve processes, and develop scalable solutions benefiting Meta’s international entities.
  • Resolve complex multi-jurisdictional accounting issues using thorough technical analysis and research.
  • Leverage AI tools, automation, and intelligent design to revamp reporting workflows, reducing manual tasks and promoting exception-based processing.
  • Design, formalize, and implement scalable processes and system solutions that enhance accuracy, shorten cycle times, and align with evolving operating models.
  • Maintain strong internal controls with audit-ready documentation ensuring compliance with governance, SOX, and regulatory requirements.
  • Clearly articulate complex accounting issues to stakeholders, auditors, and cross-functional teams.
  • Collaborate with technology, data, and operations colleagues to co-develop and validate AI solutions for financial reporting needs.
  • Support timely regulatory filings and ad-hoc statutory projects across EMEA entities.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Qualified accountant credential such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent, preferably with post-qualification experience focused on financial reporting or technical accounting.
  • Strong technical knowledge of IFRS, particularly in complex transactions in multinational, multi-entity environments.
  • Practical experience applying AI tools or automation professionally to enhance productivity and output quality.
  • Experience designing or implementing accounting systems, processes, or control frameworks rather than solely operating within existing ones.
  • Excellent communication skills to convey technical accounting matters effectively in written and verbal formats.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple reporting deadlines across entities simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with responsible and ethical AI practices including risk evaluation, bias mitigation, and quality assurance.
  • Track record of utilizing AI to streamline workflows generating measurable efficiency or quality benefits.
  • Continuous learning in AI domains such as prompt engineering and staying updated with advancements in AI technology.
  • Previous exposure to financial reporting across multiple jurisdictions, preferably within EMEA.
  • Strong adaptability in fast-paced environments embracing new tools and evolving work processes.
  • Hands-on involvement in deploying AI or automation solutions in finance or accounting areas (e.g., automated journal entries, reconciliations, disclosure drafting).
  • A passion for ongoing skill development and applying emerging knowledge to transform workflows.
  • Understanding of AI governance principles as they relate to financial compliance and reporting accuracy.
