About the Role
Join a well-established and rapidly expanding Australian property development company based in Cronulla, NSW, recognized for premium residential projects. Reporting to an experienced Chief Financial Officer, you will become an integral part of a compact, high-performing finance team. This role offers wide-ranging exposure to financial reporting, project accounting, corporate compliance, process enhancement, and strategic finance initiatives.
This position goes beyond conventional financial accounting tasks, offering the chance to influence finance procedures, bolster governance, and help build scalable financial operations supporting the company's ongoing expansion. You will collaborate directly with a vibrant and entrepreneurial founder.
Key Responsibilities
- Compile monthly management accounts and produce detailed financial reports.
- Manage month-end closing activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and overseeing the general ledger.
- Prepare Business Activity Statements (BAS), Instalment Activity Statements (IAS), Payroll Tax, and assist with income tax compliance.
- Assist with statutory financial reporting and support year-end audit processes.
- Ensure strong financial controls are maintained across multiple business entities.
- Contribute to Board and lender reporting obligations.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow analysis processes.
- Drive improvements and efficiencies within finance processes.
- Enhance finance systems and reporting tools.
- Work alongside the CFO on strategic financial projects.
Candidate Profile
- Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) or Certified Practising Accountant (CPA), or near completion.
- Proven experience in a Financial Accountant or Senior Accountant role.
- Strong skills in financial reporting and month-end procedures.
- Excellent capabilities in reconciliations and analytical review.
- Familiarity with statutory compliance, including BAS and IAS preparation.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with Xero or similar accounting software platforms.
- Background in property development, construction, or public practice is highly advantageous.
