Role overview

The Finance Manager will work closely with the Executive Team and other key stakeholders to deliver strong financial management, reporting, and analysis in an international setting. The position is important for maintaining accuracy, clarity, and transparency in finance reporting, especially shareholder reporting and performance review. The role also serves as a dependable finance partner for senior leaders, turning financial information into practical guidance for strategic decisions. In addition, the role requires strong familiarity with commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within Chinese culture and protocol.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee end-to-end financial reporting activities, making sure all cycles are accurate, compliant, and completed on time.
• Produce detailed financial reports for internal teams and shareholders.
• Perform in-depth financial analysis to assess business performance, spot trends, and generate useful recommendations.
• Help prepare shareholder reporting packs, including board presentations and financial summaries.
• Work with teams across functions to keep financial outcomes aligned with wider business goals.
• Maintain compliance with international accounting standards and internal company policies.
• Track financial performance, budgets, and forecasts, and call out key risks and opportunities.
• Support strategic planning through financial modelling and scenario-based analysis.
• Assist with internal and external audit activities, ensuring records are complete and transparent.
• Present financial information clearly for both English- and Chinese-speaking stakeholders.

Requirements

• At least 4 years of professional finance experience in an international company.
• Strong background in financial reporting and analytical work.
• Hands-on experience with shareholder reporting and exposure to executive-level stakeholders.
• Good knowledge of financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Fluency in English and Mandarin Chinese, both spoken and written.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a closely related subject.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with financial reporting systems.
• Strong understanding of international financial standards.
• Analytical, detail-focused, and commercially minded.
• Able to simplify complex financial data into clear, actionable insight.
• Confident working with senior leaders and presenting results.
• Comfortable in a fast-moving international environment.
• Capable of working independently as well as within a matrix organisation.
• Strong communication skills across cultures and business functions.
• Proactive, solution-driven, and able to handle several priorities at once.
