About the role
This position sits within EY’s finance transformation practice in Auckland and focuses on helping organisations rethink how their Finance function operates in a fast-changing digital environment. The work spans multinational businesses, mid-sized organisations, and startups, with an emphasis on supporting CFOs through major transformation initiatives.
The role contributes to projects that improve finance analytics, strengthen decision-making with better data, modernise financial planning and analysis, and redesign operating models such as Global Business Services (GBS) and Global Capability Centres (GCCs). It also includes helping clients implement stronger processes and technologies, with sustainability and long-term value creation increasingly central to the work.
This is an opportunity to be part of a globally connected team, grow your advisory capability, and help shape better outcomes for clients across the public and private sectors.
Key responsibilities
- Support finance transformation and change initiatives by working with senior leaders to evaluate and improve the Finance function.
- Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams to provide practical recommendations on people, process, and systems improvements.
- Partner with clients to help deliver measurable enhancements in finance operating performance.
- Build deeper expertise within a global network of Finance and Performance Management professionals.
Skills and experience
- Strong experience in digital finance and finance process improvement, including areas such as order-to-cash, procure-to-pay, and record-to-report.
- Exposure to finance operating model redesign, including outsourcing, shared services, and automation.
- Experience with finance organisation design and capability planning.
- Ability to improve transactional finance processes and supporting systems.
- Experience designing better reporting frameworks, including KPI development.
- Hands-on involvement in planning, budgeting, and forecasting improvements.
- Working knowledge of SAP Analytics Cloud and exposure to ERP or technology programmes.
- Use of performance management and business intelligence tools such as SAC, Power BI, and HFM.
- Project and change management capability.
- Structured problem-solving skills for business process transformation.
- Ability to analyse data, draw insights, and support change delivery.
- Experience leading teams and developing talent is an advantage.
What EY offers
- A globally connected, diverse and inclusive working environment.
- Career development focused on future-ready skills and world-class experiences.
- Flexible work arrangements that support work-life balance and autonomy.
- A broad benefits package including a yearly wellness incentive, up to 8 weeks of flex leave each year, and up to 26 weeks of gender-neutral paid parental leave.
- Competitive remuneration negotiated based on skills and experience.
- A recruitment process designed to be fair, accessible, and barrier-free.
