Role Overview

The Finance Business Partner (FBP) will be a critical internal advisor, reporting directly to the Regional Financial Controller for ANZ. This role focuses on ensuring precise financial reporting, efficient budgeting, and strict adherence to finance policies. The FBP will deliver essential financial advice to the Business Unit (BU) leadership, aiding in strategic choices and financial oversight.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide trusted financial and strategic advice to BU leaders to support decision-making and resource distribution aimed at meeting revenue, EBITDA, NPAT, and cash flow targets.
  • Assist the BU during financial reporting activities including month-end close, budgeting cycles, and continuous process improvements.
  • Collaborate with other FBPs and Regional Finance teams to reconcile intercompany transactions.
  • Ensure compliance with Acclime financial policies, regulatory requirements, and internal controls.
  • Prepare the BU’s annual budgets, quarterly and rolling forecasts while tracking critical business initiatives and their financial outcomes.
  • Improve internal reporting processes within the BU.
  • Coordinate and manage multi-entity statutory audits, ensuring timely completion and compliance.
  • Supervise statutory financial reporting requirements compliant with New Zealand financial accounting standards, inclusive of NZ IFRS consolidated financial statements preparation and review.
  • Manage New Zealand tax compliance, including GST, income tax, provisional tax, and withholding tax filings and payments.
  • Use commercial insight to challenge and influence decisions to boost operational efficiency and profitability.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings, risk reduction, and performance enhancements, along with regular financial outlook updates.
  • Facilitate consistent financial practices across Business Units via coordination with Regional and Group Finance teams.
  • Complete additional duties as assigned by the Regional Financial Controller or Regional Managing Director.

Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a closely related field.
  • Membership or active pursuit of membership in recognized accounting bodies (e.g., CAANZ, CPA Australia, ACCA, ICAEW) is highly preferred.
  • At least 5 years’ experience in finance business partnering or financial reporting roles.
  • Preferably experienced in professional services organization environments.
  • Skilled in preparing New Zealand IFRS-compliant consolidated financial statements.
  • Experienced in managing multi-entity statutory audits and liaising with external auditors.
  • Strong knowledge of New Zealand tax legislation, including GST and income tax compliance requirements.
  • Highly analytical, detail-oriented, with strong ability to interpret complex financial information.
  • Commercially astute with capability to influence business decisions through financial analysis.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills to engage and influence various stakeholders.
  • Proficient in financial management software such as Xero, Netsuite, MS Dynamics, or equivalents.
  • Advanced capabilities in Excel and general Microsoft Office applications.
  • Fluent English communication (both written and verbal).
