Job description
About Skippers and the Opportunity
Skippers is a boutique coliving and hospitality establishment located in Diani, currently managing 7 rooms with plans to expand to 12. We seek a proactive finance and hospitality professional eager to take on a role demanding true ownership, blending strategic insight with hands-on daily management.
Company Culture
Our workplace thrives on direct communication, structured processes, and radical transparency. Unlike traditional hospitality setups, we operate with minimal hierarchy, encouraging team members to engage fully — from strategic discussions to assisting guests and ensuring quality checks.
Key Responsibilities
- Enforce rigorous standards in property maintenance and housekeeping, ensuring top-tier quality control.
- Manage financial operations including bookkeeping, revenue tracking, booking verification, and financial reporting accuracy.
- Oversee the full guest experience, from smooth check-ins to handling and resolving intricate issues professionally.
- Drive business growth by encouraging guest feedback, monitoring occupancy rates, and identifying new revenue streams.
- Communicate strategic updates efficiently to the team and proactively alert management to any operational challenges.
Candidate Profile
- Possesses 4-6 years of experience primarily in finance, operations, hospitality, or construction sectors.
- Holds a Bachelor's degree or higher with First Class or Upper Second Class honors.
- Is a KASNEB associate or graduate with experience in accounting software like Xero or Quickbooks.
- Tech-savvy with proficiency in Excel and an openness to emerging technologies such as AI, APIs, and SaaS tools.
- Demonstrates strong analytical and structured problem-solving skills.
- Exhibits a strong sense of ownership and attentive to details others may overlook.
Who May Not Suit This Role
- Individuals seeking a purely supervisory, hands-off position.
- Those preferring a slow-moving, hierarchical corporate environment.
- Professionals who find administrative or financial tracking tasks unappealing.
Compensation
The role offers a gross monthly salary ranging between 70,000 to 80,000 Kenyan Shillings.
Location
This position is based onsite in Ukunda, Kwale, Kenya.
