About the role
Burberry is looking for a Finance Analyst to support commercial finance and business development work across the Americas, with a focus on real estate activity. The position sits within a values-led luxury brand that emphasizes creativity, sustainability, and positive impact. You will help shape financial decisions that support retail productivity, portfolio efficiency, and profitable growth as part of the Burberry Forward transformation agenda.
What you will do
- Create financial models and occupancy cost analyses to support lease negotiations, renewals, and rent reviews, while comparing results with market benchmarks and identifying savings opportunities.
- Prepare materials for real estate strategy discussions, including appraisal decks, market updates, portfolio reviews, and presentations for new opportunities.
- Keep the Americas lease tracker current, monitoring key dates such as break options, expirations, renewals, rent reviews, relocations, and expansions across mainline, digital, and outlet locations.
- Work with Legal and Accounting to ensure lease changes, capital expenditure, depreciation, and other real estate transactions are correctly reflected.
- Develop business cases and financial models to assess growth opportunities such as new store openings, relocations, remodels, franchise arrangements, and travel retail partnerships.
- Analyze investment outcomes including IRR, NPV, capital and operating cost impact, and scenario performance.
- Support market research by reviewing data, competition, and retail trends to identify opportunities aligned with the Burberry Forward strategy across flagship and regional markets.
- Maintain financial models and reporting tools, and look for ways to automate or improve processes for better speed and accuracy.
- Prepare monthly capex reporting for the real estate portfolio, comparing actual spending with approved budgets and sharing updates with Finance and senior leaders.
- Provide ad hoc analysis, support recurring and one-off work, and maintain clear file-building and process documentation.
What we are looking for
- A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Real Estate, or a related field.
- 2–4+ years of FP&A or commercial finance experience, ideally in luxury or retail.
- Exposure to real estate deals, lease administration, or property portfolio analysis is a strong plus.
- Advanced financial modeling capability and strong Excel skills.
- Hands-on experience with business cases, ROI and NPV analysis, and scenario planning.
- Commercial judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to turn analysis into clear recommendations for finance and non-finance audiences.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- A proactive, collaborative approach when working with Finance, Retail, Legal, and Operations teams.
- Experience with ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle.
Success measures
- Accurate and timely tracking of the lease portfolio, with no missed critical dates and proactive management of key lease events.
- High-quality business case and model outputs that provide useful, reliable, and actionable guidance for real estate and growth decisions.
- Strong working relationships with commercial partners and positive feedback from Retail, Legal, and Finance stakeholders.
