As a Field Specialist III focusing on controls, you will be part of a dynamic team responsible for ensuring high-quality service in offshore and onshore environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute Operating Service Procedures (OSP) and Project Related Procedures (PRP) accurately.
- Manage inventory control of Baker Hughes equipment offshore.
- Conduct functionality tests, repairs, and routine maintenance on delivered or rented equipment, including accurate reporting.
- Perform pressure testing aligned with installation and maintenance protocols.
- Prepare work, status, and problem reports for customers or projects as needed.
- Support planning and logistics for shipping Baker Hughes equipment from offshore or customer sites.
- Assist in stack-up testing and failure investigations, including reviewing non-productive time (NPT) occurrences.
- Contribute to preparation of procedures for engineering or projects when requested.
- Lead or assist workshop personnel when required.
- Help develop maintenance procedures and participate in review processes.
- Comply with and advocate for company and regulatory EHS standards and Quality Management systems.
- Participate in reviewing operation and maintenance manuals and prepare installation procedures and stack-up testing programs.
- Ensure daily operation reports are up-to-date and properly handed over to offshore colleagues.
- Verify availability and check-out of necessary equipment and tools.
- Work onshore when directed by the Field Service Supervisor.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in topside commissioning, controls, IWOCS, and XT completions.
- B-Tech degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering from a recognized university.
- Ability to engage confidently with customers on technical problem-solving.
- Strong troubleshooting and repair skills.
- Completion of relevant training courses appropriate to the Field Service Engineer grade.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Baker Hughes products and equipment.
- Proficiency in Baker Hughes digital tools such as GRID, NPT/SIRCam, Agility, EPIMS, and Zinc.
- Fluent written and spoken English skills.
- Understanding of production processes related to Baker Hughes tools.
- Familiarity with offshore and onshore installation procedures.
- Relevant technical education or apprenticeship certification.
- Experience with multiple topside commissioning installations and knowledge of operating company routines.
- Completed approved safety training as required.
- Proactive ownership of tasks including equipment management, reviewing job history and lessons learned, and following OSP and PRP procedures.
- Adaptability to irregular working hours and job patterns.
- Commitment to safe working practices and delivering high customer satisfaction.
- Basic computer proficiency including use of Word, Excel, and web-based applications.
