Farm Worker (Fruit) - Gibson Farms

Job Overview

Gibson Farms is seeking dedicated farm workers specialized in fruit cultivation, particularly apple crops. The farm is currently in the process of obtaining a Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) and will extend employment offers once approval is secured.

Work Environment and Conditions

• On-site work at rural outdoor farm location
• Exposure to various environmental conditions including heights, dampness, dust, heat, and noise
• Physically demanding roles involving standing for long periods, bending, crouching, kneeling, and continuous walking
• Fast-paced setting with repetitive tasks and tight deadlines requiring strong hand-eye coordination and the ability to distinguish colors

Roles and Responsibilities

• Cleaning and harvesting crops such as apples and vegetables manually
• Training fruit trees to enhance both yield and quality
• Weeding, budding, and cutting horticultural crops
• Operating agricultural equipment such as tractors and sprayers or dusters

Candidate Requirements

• Minimum of 1 to less than 7 months of relevant experience
• Basic English language proficiency
• No formal educational degree, certificate, or diploma required
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
• Good organizational skills and ability to work well in a team environment
• Flexibility and good judgment in work tasks and interpersonal relations
