About the Role

Become a vital member of the Tassal team as a Farm Attendant based at our Macquarie Harbour location on Tasmania’s rugged west coast. This role offers the unique opportunity to engage hands-on daily with aquaculture operations, contributing significantly to both team success and Tassal’s overarching goals.

Daily Duties

  • Fish Husbandry: Vigilantly monitoring the health of salmon to maintain Tassal’s high animal welfare standards
  • Handling Nets: Expertly placing nets in assigned areas to create optimal growth and harvest conditions for fish
  • General Labor: Conducting inspections and maintenance on pens, nets, and feeding equipment
  • Compliance: Adhering strictly to company policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines
  • Harvest Assistance: Providing support in harvest-related tasks as required

Skills & Qualifications

  • Possession of Coxswain NC2 certificate is preferred
  • Certificate III in Aquaculture or a strong willingness to obtain it
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Highly organized and methodical approach
