Job description
Role overview
Tassal Group is inviting expressions of interest for a Farm Attendant to join the Central Operations team. The main work location is the Dover site in Tasmania, about 1 hour and 15 minutes south of Hobart, and around 60% of the role will be based there. The position also includes work across other south-eastern Marine Operations sites.
Work pattern and shifts
This is a family-friendly rostered role built around a 7/7 schedule, meaning you work seven days and then receive seven days off each fortnight. Each working day is 11.4 hours long. Day and night shift opportunities are available.
What the job involves
The role is practical and varied, with a strong focus on marine farming tasks. Typical duties include fastening knots securely to support the stability of netting systems, checking ropes regularly for damage or deterioration, and assisting with the planning and carrying out of bathing procedures. Additional hands-on farm work will also form part of the position.
What you need to be considered
Applicants should bring prior farming experience or experience working on the water, along with a solid work ethic. A valid coxswain ticket is also required. Candidates must be able to work 40 hours per week and hold full working rights in Australia.
Pay and benefits
The starting pay is $34.47 per hour. Benefits include 5 weeks of annual leave each year, an extra paid day off for your birthday, discounted private health insurance through St Lukes and Bupa, discounts on premium seafood from the Salamanca shop and truck, and accommodation provided for all shifts.
Application notes
Applications are to be submitted online. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted. Questions may be directed to the talent team by email.
