Overview

Join CORTO as a Family Law Paralegal working at the cutting edge where family law meets artificial intelligence. Whether you're currently pursuing a law degree or an experienced paralegal, this role invites you to engage with innovative LegalTech solutions shaping the future of legal services. Based in Brisbane, with hybrid flexibility requiring 3+ days a week onsite, this role allows you to influence AI products through your family law expertise.

About CORTO and AI Paralegal

CORTO is a pioneering software company transforming legal workflows with AI-powered tools designed to enhance lawyer productivity and client service efficiency. AI Paralegal, a product built on advanced technology by Adieu, acts as a digital assistant performing document drafting, workflow management, and repetitive legal tasks swiftly and accurately. Integrated with LEAP’s ecosystem, it helps law firms optimize efficiency, scale capacity, and increase profitability.

Responsibilities

  • Respond promptly to inbound requests from law firms through a messaging system, equipped with full case context for immediate action.
  • Access and troubleshoot the backend system to resolve cases where AI falls short, performing necessary adjustments and completions.
  • Communicate directly with clients and family lawyers to interpret needs accurately, asking clarifying questions and determining the appropriate course of action.
  • Convert manual fixes and interventions into well-crafted product tickets that inform developers to prevent recurring issues and improve the system.
  • Prioritize work dynamically in a fast-moving environment, efficiently managing a reactive queue with varying daily demands.
  • Assist law firms in preparing their existing matters for integration with the AI Paralegal tool.
  • Participate in feature workshops to enhance the product’s suitability and usability for family law practices.

Candidate Profile

  • Demonstrated experience as a family law paralegal, ideally with exposure to multiple firms and diverse procedures.
  • Confidence and assertiveness in discussions with family law attorneys, capable of challenging when appropriate.
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret ambiguous information and deduce underlying client needs.
  • Attention to detail with excellent written communication to produce precise and constructive product tickets and notes.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, reactive setting, efficiently prioritizing and switching tasks as needed.
  • Genuine interest in AI’s evolving role in legal work and enthusiasm for contributing to innovative technology development.

Desired Attributes

  • Ambition to take a non-traditional legal career path beyond typical law firms.
  • Proactive mindset focused on preventing issues long-term rather than temporary fixes.
  • Desire to influence product design and workflows rather than simply follow existing processes.
  • Product-oriented thinking, capable of articulating the significance of issues beyond just reporting events.

Benefits and Culture

  • Your efforts directly impact improving everyday legal services for local communities.
  • Empowerment through autonomy on complex projects with a meaningful voice in the company.
  • Collaborate with passionate, genuine colleagues sharing a love for their work.
  • Backed by ATI Global, one of the largest international LegalTech firms, ensuring stability and growth potential.
  • Flexible hybrid working environment that promotes engagement and collaboration.
  • Opportunities for career advancement and skill development in a rapidly scaling business.
  • Enjoy social events, sports teams, sailing and yacht access, and celebratory gatherings.
  • Comprehensive well-being benefits including extra leave and gym memberships.
  • Fast-paced and innovative culture driven by disruption.
  • Access to the LEAP Home program supporting employees in homeownership.

Equal Opportunity

CORTO is committed to inclusivity and removing barriers to enable all individuals to reach their potential. Candidates are encouraged to apply even if they do not meet every qualification listed.
