Faculty Member - Computer Science, Information Systems, and Software Engineering

Position Overview

Prince Sultan University in Riyadh is inviting applications for faculty appointments in the College of Computer and Information Sciences. The opening is for male and female candidates at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Full Professor for the first semester of academic year 2026/2027, which begins on August 9, 2026. This is a full-time, on-campus academic role.

Teaching Scope

The selected faculty member will contribute to undergraduate and graduate teaching across Computer Science, Information Systems, and Software Engineering. Instructional responsibilities may cover the Bachelor of Computer Science, Bachelor of Information Systems, Bachelor of Software Engineering, Master of Software Engineering, Master of Cybersecurity, and doctoral programs.

The role also extends to academic areas such as Cybersecurity, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Business Analytics, Digital Transformation, Game Development, Robotics, Drones, and Mobile App Development.

Core Academic Responsibilities

In addition to classroom teaching, the successful candidate will be expected to carry out research, guide student projects and research work, and contribute to the college through academic and administrative service. Participation in broader community-focused activities is also part of the position.

Candidate Profile

Applicants should hold a PhD in a computing discipline such as Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Information Systems from an accredited university in North America or Europe. Strong expertise in the listed specialization areas is preferred.

The university is looking for candidates with strong teaching performance, the ability to attract external research funding, and a record of producing high-quality scholarly work. A strong publication profile in leading peer-reviewed international journals, including ISI and Scopus Q1/Q2 outlets, is highly valued.

Experience supervising undergraduate and postgraduate research students is important, along with the capacity to help build or expand curriculum offerings when needed. An understanding of SDG-related themes for integration into the college curriculum is also desirable.

Contract and Benefits

The appointment is offered as a one-year renewable contract, subject to renewal based on Dean/Director review and student evaluation. Compensation is competitive and depends on academic qualification, rank, and teaching experience.

Additional benefits include medical insurance for the employee and eligible dependents residing in the Kingdom, a transport allowance, and round-trip annual leave tickets for up to four family members (employee, spouse, and two children under 18). The package also includes a paid summer vacation of two months and two local paid holidays of approximately 15 days each, where applicable.

Eligible children may receive school tuition support of up to SAR 30,000, with final terms defined in the employment contract. Free furnished accommodation with utilities and maintenance may be provided depending on availability, otherwise a housing allowance will be offered according to academic rank. End-of-service annual gratuity begins from the second year of continuous service, provided the employee has completed at least two years.
