Overview
Join Target's Supply Chain team as a Facility Attendant 1, playing a crucial role in keeping Distribution Centers well-maintained to ensure swift product delivery. This position is based in Port Wentworth, GA and requires working onsite with shifts from Saturday to Monday, 6 AM to 6 PM.
Compensation and Benefits
The starting wage is $21.20 per hour, with potential additional shift differentials between $2.00 and $3.50 per hour depending on eligibility. Key Responsibilities
- Assist Maintenance Technicians with preventive and corrective mechanical maintenance, including servicing hand tools and minor floor machinery.
- Serve as a Qualified Electrical Assistant for electrical safety-related tasks.
- Support installation and removal of various equipment across the facility.
- Inspect both interior and exterior facility areas to identify upkeep or repair needs.
- Manage PIT (Powered Industrial Truck) battery maintenance, cleaning, record keeping, and battery changes.
- Perform maintenance, cleaning, and troubleshooting on Label Tec Printers.
- Operate hand and power tools such as drills, saws, sanders, grinders, pneumatic tools, and welders safely.
- Build or repair furniture, shelving, racks, and workbenches using carpentry, welding, and fabrication skills.
- Handle plumbing tasks like faucet installation/repair, sprinkler maintenance, drain cleaning, and sump maintenance.
- Conduct painting, drywall repairs, concrete patching, and minor concrete replacements.
- Assist with preventive maintenance projects including pest control, HVAC support, and related documentation.
- Manage removal of cardboard bales, trash disposal, and maintaining tidy building grounds.
- Operate snow removal equipment for walks, roads, and parking lots as needed.
- Drive Target vehicles for yard cleanup, incident response, vendor escort, and material pickup activities.
- Ensure safe operation of all equipment and promptly address spill cleanups and other safety hazards.
- Complete necessary paperwork, maintain daily work order logs, and use mobile devices to track work orders including labor hours, downtime, causes, remedies, and parts used.
- Follow all safety protocols and use Personal Protective Equipment such as during Lock Out/Tag Out and Arc Flash processes to maintain a hazard-free workplace.
- Food & Beverage roles require adherence to sanitation and maintenance standards related to industrial ammonia refrigeration.
Physical and Environmental Requirements
- Ability to lift merchandise weighing up to 47 lbs regularly and occasionally up to 60 lbs.
- Frequent mobility throughout the site for 10-12 hours per shift.
- Work in temperature-controlled environments, including sub-freezing temperatures for Food Distribution roles.
- Tolerate exposure to confined spaces, dust, odors, temperature variations, noise, vibration, long standing on concrete, and wet or uneven surfaces.
- Access all Distribution Center areas including conveyor crossovers and mezzanine platforms.
- Maintain fine manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination, foot operation, and wrist motions needed for tool use and tasks.
Candidate Profile
- Possession of a valid driver's license applicable to the state of employment.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Comfortable communicating clearly and demonstrating basic arithmetic skills.
- Capability to operate and get certified on all power equipment used at the facility.
- Proficient in reading and understanding labels, instructions, and tickets.
- Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
- Food & Beverage roles require comfort working in controlled temperature areas.
