About the Role
Join Target as a Senior Designer specializing in Kids Home products, leading design and development for the Pillowfort kids home brand, which includes soft home items like bedding, toss and throw pillows, soft gifting, and décor. You will bring deep industry expertise and creativity to forecast trends, drive design strategy, and work closely with merchants and sourcing teams to ensure brand cohesion and innovative product offerings that align with pricing and assortment goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead product research, design concepts, fabric, print, trim, and graphic development specifically for kids' soft home goods.
- Continuously track category and market trends, including global market research and factory visits for product development.
- Collaborate across teams to maintain brand consistency and meet merchant line plans and pricing strategies.
- Mentor junior designers to foster team collaboration and professional growth.
- Work closely with technical designers and sourcing to resolve product challenges and ensure quality standards.
Candidate Profile
- Minimum of 8 years' experience in Kids Home design, particularly bedding or soft home products.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Design, Fine Art, or related fields.
- Proficient in design software such as Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
- Strong expertise in textiles, materials, construction, and production processes.
- Excellent commercial awareness and ability to apply market and trend research.
- Self-motivated with strong teamwork skills and a creative approach to business needs.
- Familiarity or curiosity regarding AI design tools is desirable.
Work Arrangement and Location
This role is based in Minneapolis, MN, with a hybrid work arrangement requiring a mix of onsite presence at Target headquarters and remote work depending on team needs. Working outside the U.S. primary work location is not generally permitted, and remote work from specified states is limited to 30 days per calendar year.
Compensation and Benefits
The salary range for this position is $95,000 to $171,000 annually, based on factors including experience, education, and market conditions.
