Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day operations, maintenance, and monitoring of Ultra-Pure Water (UPW) and Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) systems, ensuring efficient functionality within designated parameters.
- Maintain stringent quality control on water and wastewater systems, performing routine inspections and ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Promptly diagnose and resolve both routine and unexpected operational challenges to minimize downtime.
- Identify system weaknesses and implement improvements to boost reliability and stability.
- Enforce all safety regulations and government mandates to uphold a safe workplace environment.
- Collaborate with engineering teams on sustainability initiatives targeting energy reduction, water conservation, and waste recycling.
- Coordinate with contractors and vendors to execute corrective and preventive maintenance programs effectively.
- Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance activities in accordance with standard operating procedures, including necessary risk assessments and permits.
- Respond swiftly to out-of-spec conditions and plant interruptions to restore normal operations quickly.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and inventory logs within the Facility Management System (FMS).
- Apply Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) principles to enhance equipment efficiency and promote proactive maintenance culture.
- Understand and apply Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) protocols during maintenance tasks.
- Execute Risk Assessments (RA) and Permit to Work (PTP) procedures for maintenance activities to guarantee safety measures.
- Recognize electrical, fire, and chemical hazards in operational areas and strictly adhere to safety guidelines, especially when entering confined spaces.
- Properly select and use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) appropriate to the specific maintenance tasks.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Possess a diploma in Chemical or Environmental Engineering.
- Experience with water or wastewater system operations or a comparable field is required.
- Strong analytical capabilities, proficiency in Microsoft Office and other analytical tools.
- Excellent communication, organizational skills, and ability to work collaboratively.
