Job description
Job Overview
This role involves managing all fabrication floor activities and overseeing the entire production process including setup, quality control, safety adherence, volume management, cost control, employee training, and maintenance of production records. The position demands comprehensive knowledge of processing workflows, accurate documentation, and handling staffing requirements.
Primary Duties
- Lead and execute departmental strategies in the Fabrication area while collaborating regularly with peers; reports to the Director of Operations - Fabrication.
- Manage day-to-day production operations ensuring compliance with schedules, priorities, and processing guidelines.
- Handle workforce planning including crewing, scheduling, quality tracking, productivity, and supervisor training.
- Maintain safety standards, oversee housekeeping, and ensure correct equipment operation.
- Enforce health and safety protocols, address policy violations with HR, and participate in disciplinary processes including accident investigations.
- Engage in management and operational meetings and facilitate line meetings.
- Maintain and implement necessary documentation, product records, and specifications.
- Conduct employee-related actions such as hiring, promotions, and terminations aligned with EEO/AA policies.
- Assess departmental performance and administer corrective or disciplinary measures as needed.
- Coordinate material flow within the department and across other departments.
- Propose and develop process improvements and enhanced production methods.
- Manage cooler inventories and oversee export orders, ensuring timely completion and shipment.
- Determine product grades and quantities designated for Hong Kong orders.
- Perform SQF audits to guarantee sanitation and safety compliance across departments.
- Monitor harvested custom cattle processing and grading.
- Verify labor hours and report accuracy using UKG systems to identify staffing shortages.
- Generate and distribute supervisor reports.
- Promote succession planning within areas of responsibility.
- Additional duties as assigned to meet business needs.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum age of 18 years.
- Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- High school diploma or GED.
- 3-5 years of supervisory experience in fabrication.
- Strong knowledge of fabrication processes, USDA grading standards, and cooler operations.
- Proficient English communication skills in speaking, reading, and writing.
Preferred Qualifications
- Post-secondary education such as an associate or bachelor’s degree.
- Spanish language proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements
The role primarily functions in a professional office setting using standard office equipment but also requires frequent visits to production facilities. Physical requirements include occasional standing, walking, sitting, manual dexterity, and the ability to lift or move objects. Vision capabilities include close, distance, and color vision.
