Role Overview
This position calls for a specialist to shape and launch a nationwide apiculture health program and a reference center focused on honeybee disease management. The work centers on monitoring disease patterns, carrying out diagnostics, advancing research, and applying AI-based prediction tools to strengthen pollination resilience and support food security.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and oversee a national or regional reference center dedicated to honeybee diseases.
- Design and run disease surveillance and outbreak response initiatives.
- Manage laboratory diagnosis workflows and sample handling systems.
- Direct research efforts related to honeybee health, disease, and ecosystem wellbeing.
- Embed artificial intelligence and predictive analytics into monitoring and early-warning systems.
- Coordinate with government bodies, scientists, and beekeeping stakeholders.
- Lead cross-functional teams and maintain high standards of operational delivery.
Qualifications and Experience
The role requires a PhD in Veterinary Medicine, Entomology, Apiculture, or a closely related discipline, along with 8 to 10 years of experience in honeybee health or a relevant research area. Candidates should also bring demonstrated leadership experience in laboratory operations or program management.

- Prior experience setting up or running reference laboratories.
