Head of Major Events (South)

Role Overview

RunThrough is expanding and seeks a Head of Major Events to lead its southern operations. This newly formed position involves overseeing the execution of numerous mass participation events annually, managing an experienced team to uphold delivery processes, ensuring appropriate event staffing, and advancing operational standards in line with company growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct the operational execution of major events in the southern region.
• Lead and support the operational events team throughout the year.
• Maintain consistent event delivery processes and uphold operational quality standards.
• Manage event staffing, logistics, and resource allocation effectively.
• Collaborate with senior leadership on strategic planning for events.
• Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and key stakeholders.
• Contribute to budget oversight and seek operational efficiencies.
• Ensure all events comply with safety and regulatory requirements.
• Champion continuous improvements in event operations and participant experience.
• Support the growing portfolio of RunThrough events actively.

Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in event delivery or operations within mass participation or sporting events.
• Proven ability to manage staff and work closely with leadership teams.
• Excellent organisational skills to handle simultaneous tasks in dynamic environments.
• Established connections with suppliers and contractors.
• High proficiency in stakeholder management.
• Confidence in leading teams at live events, coordinating both staff and volunteers.
• Capacity to resolve issues and make decisions under pressure promptly.
• Outstanding communication skills paired with an approachable and friendly demeanor.
• Proactive, hands-on attitude with willingness to work outdoors regardless of weather conditions.
• Availability to work during weekends.
• Passion for running and live event environments.
• Possession of a full UK driving license is essential.
