Experienced Tradesperson for Commercial Facility Maintenance in Acton, ACT

Role Overview

We seek a seasoned tradesperson to join a commercial cleaning and maintenance contract based in Acton, ACT. The role involves collaborating with building occupants and contractors to ensure all daily upkeep and maintenance duties are effectively completed.

Primary Responsibilities

• Delegate and supervise general maintenance, repairs, and minor refurbishments for accommodation rooms, common spaces, and facilities.
• Oversee carpentry, painting, plumbing, and handyman-related tasks by assigning and inspecting contractors.
• Perform regular inspections and preventative maintenance tasks to uphold facility standards.
• Assist in assembling furniture, setting up rooms, and preparing venues for events and conferences.
• Maintain outdoor areas and ensure the overall building presentation meets required standards.
• Act promptly on maintenance requests and operational problems as they arise.
• Communicate effectively with contractors and service providers when necessary.
• Adhere strictly to Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) regulations and promote a safe working environment.

Candidate Profile

• Prior experience in building maintenance, facilities management, or a handyman capacity is essential.
• Proficient practical skills spanning multiple maintenance disciplines.
• Good knowledge of risk management concepts including hazard identification, risk evaluation, and mitigation measures.
• Meticulous attention to detail paired with a dedication to maintaining high presentation and quality standards.
• Capability to work autonomously while managing multiple tasks and priorities efficiently.
• Possesses a friendly, professional demeanor with a strong customer service orientation.
