Job description

Role Overview

Evergreen Care is looking for an experienced Health Care Assistant to join its full-time team at Carlingford Nursing Home on Dundalk Road in Carlingford, County Louth. This role offers the chance to grow within one of Ireland’s established private nursing home providers.

What the Job Involves

You will work alongside other health care assistants and report to the nursing team to help deliver high-quality, person-centred support. The role focuses on helping residents live as independently as possible while maintaining privacy and dignity. You will also contribute to a warm, supportive setting that meets residents’ physical, emotional, social, intellectual, and spiritual needs.

Candidate Profile

The ideal applicant will have a strong interest in caring for older people and a genuine commitment to resident wellbeing. Prior experience is required. A QQI Level 5 qualification in Health Care Support is an advantage, though it is not mandatory. Training and further CPD opportunities are available for the right person.

Working Pattern

This is a full-time role. The schedule includes 12-hour shifts. The position is also listed as permanent, and the wider organisation notes flexibility in working arrangements. Meals are provided for shifts longer than 8 hours.

Benefits

Employees can expect a friendly and supportive workplace, free on-site parking, a competitive hourly rate, flexible working, and access to ongoing training and upskilling opportunities.

About Evergreen Care

Additional Information

The role is subject to Garda vetting and reference verification. Evergreen Care is an equal opportunities employer. The closing date for applications is Tuesday 7th July, 2026.
