About the Role
An established Atlanta-based general contractor is seeking an Executive Vice President to spearhead its newly formed Commercial Construction Division. This unique position offers the chance to create and lead a new business segment backed by a company with a solid construction foundation generating over $55 million in annual revenue, equipped with capable operational teams, sound financial resources, and a stellar reputation. The long-term goal is to expand this division into a $200M+ enterprise.
Primary Responsibilities
- Found and manage the Commercial Construction Division, taking charge from planning through to operational delivery.
- Initiate and develop growth opportunities across diverse commercial sectors including light industrial, distribution, automotive, and retail.
- Forge and enhance relationships with key stakeholders such as owners, developers, architects, and other industry collaborators.
- Oversee all facets of preconstruction, operational management, financial health, and overall business execution within the division.
- Hire, mentor, and cultivate a team of top performers, utilizing the company’s existing operational, estimating, accounting, and field support resources.
- Collaborate closely with company owners to influence long-range strategy, company culture, and organizational growth.
- Implement scalable processes and systems that can sustain ongoing expansion.
- Ensure profitability while maintaining excellent client satisfaction and encouraging repeat business.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 15 years leadership experience in commercial construction.
- Proven track record in expanding a commercial construction business unit, regional office, or contractor firm.
- Experience managing projects in commercial, light industrial, distribution, automotive, retail, or related markets.
- Substantial business development achievements supported by a robust network of owners, developers, and partners.
- Strong financial and operational leadership with full P&L responsibility.
- Proven expertise in recruiting, training, and leading high-performing construction teams.
- Entrepreneurial mindset focused on business building and long-term value generation.
- Willingness to relocate to or current residence in the Atlanta metropolitan area.
