Job Overview
This position centers around the management and upkeep of StarHub's submarine cable systems, with the goal of ensuring top-quality service delivery and uninterrupted traffic flow. The role involves delivering co-location customers' infrastructure and interconnection requests efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise the deployment of telecommunication systems within the StarHub cable landing station.
- Collaborate with team members to operate and sustain telecommunications equipment and submarine cable communication systems at the station.
- Conduct testing, deployment, and troubleshooting of submarine cable communication hardware and network links.
- Create and maintain operational procedures for cable station activities, consortia equipment, co-location, and interconnection services.
- Provide 24/7 standby and on-call availability to support cable station operations including fault identification and repair coordination for submarine cable systems (both dry and wet segments).
- Offer oversight and assistance with building management, mechanical and electrical systems, and outside plant infrastructure related to the cable station.
- Participate onboard vessels for submarine cable installation or repair projects.
- Handle equipment room facility requests to ensure optimal planning and allocation of space and power resources.
- Support implementation of co-location projects within the cable station.
- Ensure cable station cable/fiber patching, interconnections, and troubleshooting requests are fulfilled.
- Manage site access and security protocols for co-location customers.
- Maintain and update documentation concerning all submarine cable facilities, test gear, spare parts, and customer co-location/interconnection details.
- Assist with site surveys, inspections, installation, and commissioning for submarine cable and equipment room projects.
Qualifications & Skills
- Diploma in Electrical, Electronics, or Communication Engineering.
- Open to fresh graduates and candidates possessing relevant experience.
- Ability to work collaboratively in team settings as well as independently.
- Strong analytical thinking, project coordination, system testing, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Willingness to perform shift duties including 24/7 standby and on-call responsibilities.
