Role overview
This field sales role is focused on expanding the reach of wood coatings in the assigned territory of Raipur, Chhattisgarh. The position covers products from melamine to premium PU finishes and requires building a strong network of dealers and other market influencers such as contractors, applicators, furniture makers, architects, and end customers. The goal is to grow sales and support the company’s broader business targets.
Business objectives
- Support the dealer network in improving both sales value and sales volume for wood coatings.
- Create demand through activations, sampling drives, and training sessions for contractors, applicators, and similar stakeholders.
- Broaden market reach by working closely with retail, projects, and services teams and passing on qualified leads.
- Promote growth by focusing on stakeholders who work specifically with wood coatings, including furniture manufacturers.
Stakeholder management
- Organize shop meetings to introduce new wood coating solutions and encourage market adoption.
- Increase sales by engaging contractors and architects through product training and activation activities.
- Make sure promotional schemes and product displays are executed properly for dealers, contractors, and other stakeholders.
- Handle dealer and consumer concerns related to wood coatings and close them within the expected turnaround time.
Market intelligence
- Support the marketing team in conducting product trials and drawing insights on product performance compared with market alternatives.
- Identify effective ways to communicate product advantages to consumers and influencers.
Key performance indicators
- Wood coatings value and volume target achievement.
- Growth in dealer network value contribution.
- Increase in APEHS and project sales site penetration.
- Growth in the number of users for premium wood coating products.
- Delivery of product training sessions to identified stakeholder groups.
Qualifications
Applicants should hold a full-time undergraduate degree in any stream such as BA, B.Sc, B.Com, BBA, BBM, or BMS. A minimum of 50% marks throughout education is required, and there should be no backlogs. Candidates with engineering backgrounds, including B.Tech, B.E., Diploma, or B.Pharma, are not eligible for this role. An MBA or PGDM with a sales and marketing specialization is preferred.
Experience
This position is open to freshers, though candidates with 1 to 2 years of experience in sales are also suitable. Prior experience in the wood finishes industry will be an advantage.
Additional requirements
- The role requires regular visits to dealer counters and customer sites, so extensive travel is part of the job.
- Because this is a transferable role, the candidate must be willing to work anywhere in India.
- Strong working knowledge of MS Office and MS Excel is mandatory.
- Preferred age range for applicants is 26 to 30 years.
