Job description

About the role

Join the Media and External Communications team within Asia Corporate Affairs in Singapore. This position plays an important part in strengthening Macquarie Group’s public reputation across Asia by working with media contacts and senior internal stakeholders.

Macquarie is a global financial services organization active in 30 markets and backed by 57 years of continuous profitability. The business aims to support people in building meaningful careers and creating long-term value through their work.

What you will do

You will help shape, protect, and grow the organisation’s reputation across Asia through strategic communications, media outreach, and external positioning. Your work will include building and delivering communication plans that support business objectives, handling both proactive and reactive media opportunities, and responding thoughtfully to reputational issues. You will also work closely with senior leaders to prepare them for media interactions and identify speaking opportunities that raise the company’s external profile.

What you bring

The role calls for someone with experience in media relations, external communications, issues handling, and stakeholder engagement. You should have a track record of earning meaningful coverage in leading business, mainstream, and trade media across Asia. Comfort in working with senior stakeholders is important, especially when advising on messages and influencing decisions. A solid understanding of financial services, or experience in a closely regulated environment, will be valuable. Strong English writing and speaking skills are also essential.

Benefits

Macquarie offers a range of employee benefits, subject to eligibility, designed to support wellbeing, flexibility, and growth. These may include paid wellbeing and Flexi-Leave days, parental leave and transition leave, volunteer leave, the ability to buy additional annual leave, medical and life insurance, flexible wellbeing credits, learning and development support, professional membership or subscription reimbursement, hybrid and flexible working options depending on the role, and reimbursement for home-office equipment.

About Financial Management, People and Engagement

Financial Management, People and Engagement (FPE) serves as a single point of contact for Macquarie’s businesses across people, strategy, communications, and financial management. The function covers financial, tax, and treasury activities as well as strategic priorities, while also supporting culture, community engagement, and stakeholder engagement to protect and enhance the group’s reputation worldwide.

Diversity, equity and inclusion

Macquarie is committed to building a workplace where diversity, equity, and inclusion are embedded. Applications are welcome from people of all backgrounds and identities, including differences in race, ethnicity, culture, nationality, gender identity or expression, age, sexual orientation, relationship status, family or caregiving status, neurodiversity, religion or belief, disability, and socio-economic background. The company is open to discussing how candidates can feel supported and included during the recruitment process and in future working arrangements. Reasonable adjustments can be provided for individuals who need assistance during recruitment or on the job.
