About the Organisation
The Singapore Maritime Foundation (SMF), founded in 2004, is a private-sector-led organisation that works with industry partners and government agencies to encourage public-private collaboration, strengthen Singapore’s position as an International Maritime Centre, and develop a talent pool ready for the maritime sector.
SMF is seeking an Executive to support internships, scholarships, outreach, events, and related administrative work.
Role Overview
This position focuses on connecting students, educational institutions, companies, and industry stakeholders through internship and scholarship outreach, maritime talent promotion, event coordination, and database/website support.
Internships, Scholarships, Outreach & Profiling
- Support the planning and execution of initiatives that promote, secure, and match maritime internship opportunities offered by companies to students.
- Prepare post-event and post-initiative reports and analysis whenever needed.
- Help design and deliver programmes that position Singapore as an International Maritime Centre.
- Develop promotional and publicity initiatives to attract talent and manpower into the maritime sector.
- Represent and profile the Singapore maritime industry to local Institutes of Higher Learning and companies.
- Drive community and youth outreach efforts that promote maritime training and education to different stakeholder groups.
- Work with relevant industry bodies and government agencies to support coordination across maritime-related sectors.
- Market the industry, internships, and scholarships to students and the wider public, including showcasing profiles and initiatives.
- Contribute to other projects as assigned.
Events Management
- Plan and run career fairs, talks, and roadshows at tertiary institutions to raise awareness of maritime career paths.
- Organise networking sessions, seminars, and talks for industry profiling and youth groups.
Administration
- Handle internship and scholarship administration, including publicity with IHLs and companies, application collation, and interview coordination where needed.
- Maintain databases and update website content.
Requirements
- Preferably a background in Business, Marketing, Human Resources, or Communications, or at least 2 years of relevant work experience.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Design sense is important; experience with Canva will be an advantage.
- Self-driven, careful in execution, and focused on delivering results, with solid planning ability.
- Strong spoken and written English, plus confident presentation skills.
Working Arrangements
This is a 5-day work week, from 9:00am to 6:00pm.
Salary will be aligned with the selected candidate’s experience and qualifications.
