Role Overview
As the Executive Director of Product, Growth & Monetization, you will be responsible for crafting and leading the global product strategy aimed at customer acquisition, engagement, retention, and monetization across numerous brands. This senior leadership position requires managing a team of product managers and overseeing the delivery of product roadmaps that foster growth and sustainable revenue. The role demands collaboration with internal teams such as engineering, design, data science, marketing, and finance to create scalable and impactful solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and own the long-term strategy for growth and monetization covering the entire customer lifecycle.
- Ensure fast-paced execution of product initiatives that yield significant business and customer results.
- Lead, mentor, and expand a skilled product management team promoting a culture centered on consumer insight, experimentation, and tangible outcomes.
- Balance customer value with sustainable revenue growth through innovative product offerings.
- Promote a culture of A/B testing, data-driven learning, and rapid iterations to optimize acquisition, conversion, and retention funnels.
- Understand and manage complex ecosystems involving customer, business, and partner interests.
- Collaborate across functions to align objectives and implement strategies effectively.
- Maintain a platform-focused approach to leverage technical infrastructure for global scalability.
Qualifications
- Over 12 years of product management experience, with a minimum of 5 years in senior leadership leading PM teams at scale.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Demonstrated success in driving growth and monetization within subscription, marketplace, or consumer platform environments.
- Expertise in strategies including customer acquisition, tiered plans, upselling, account management, retention, and monetization.
- A strong growth-oriented mindset with the ability to set ambitious goals, conduct hypothesis testing, and adapt based on findings.
- Technical knowledge to engage effectively with engineering and data teams concerning platform functions and system architecture.
- Experience factoring ROI, financial trade-offs, value creation, and capture in product strategy.
- Background in entertainment, media, or related sectors is highly preferred.
- Excellent analytical, storytelling, and communication skills for executive engagement.
- Proven ability to operate in ambiguous contexts and bring alignment across executive leadership.
Compensation & Benefits
The salary range for this executive position in San Francisco, CA is between $275,900 and $370,000 annually, and between $251,900 and $337,800 annually in Glendale, CA. The precise base salary will be influenced by internal equity, geographic location, job-related expertise, skills, and experience. Additional compensation may include bonuses and long-term incentives. Benefits cover medical, financial, and other programs, tailored to the level of the role.
