Role Overview
The Executive Director of Membership & Events is a full-time, on-site position based in Palm Coast, FL. This role focuses on growing membership, improving retention, and increasing member engagement by creating and executing strategies that attract new members and deepen existing relationships. It also involves designing, coordinating, and delivering a robust lineup of events, including networking sessions, educational workshops, and signature community gatherings, with an emphasis on excellent experiences for attendees and sponsors.
What the Role Involves
In this position, you will handle the full lifecycle of event delivery, from planning and coordination to logistics and post-event review. You will work with vendors, manage budgets, monitor performance data, and prepare updates and reports for leadership.
Key Qualifications
Success in this role calls for excellent communication, with the confidence to connect with a wide range of stakeholders, speak to groups, and establish strong professional relationships. The position also requires sales capability, especially in membership acquisition, sponsorship growth, and revenue generation. Prior experience running events from initial concept through execution and wrap-up is important, along with sound budgeting skills for forecasting, controlling costs, and reporting finances related to membership and events. Experience in a chamber of commerce, nonprofit, community-based, or business association setting is considered a strong advantage. Familiarity with standard office tools and CRM or membership management platforms is also needed. Strong planning, organization, project management, and attention to detail are essential. A bachelor’s degree in business, communications, marketing, public administration, or a related discipline is preferred, though an equivalent mix of education and experience is also acceptable.
