Role overview
A well-known playwright in Brooklyn Heights is hiring a full-time Executive Assistant to support both professional and personal operations. The right person will be highly organized, tactful, and able to take initiative across communication, scheduling, and day-to-day logistics so the principal can stay focused on creative work.
What you will do
The role covers a wide mix of responsibilities, from managing day-to-day correspondence to coordinating household and work-related logistics. You will help keep the principal’s calendar efficient, support planning across multiple priorities, and make sure tasks move forward smoothly without constant direction.
- Handle all email communication, including drafting replies and sending messages on the principal’s behalf
- Build and maintain a strategic calendar that supports creative output, self-care, and family scheduling
- Communicate with agents, producers, press contacts, industry professionals, household staff, family staff, and vendors
- Monitor progress on several simultaneous projects
- Arrange travel and prepare detailed itineraries
- Manage RSVPs, event logistics, and social commitments
- Oversee household administration, including identifying vendors and coordinating repairs
- Improve and maintain systems and procedures
- Order and track office and home supplies
- Anticipate the principal’s needs and act proactively
- Research professional and personal projects as needed
- Run errands and handle other tasks that come up
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree from a strong U.S. college or an equivalent qualification
- At least 4 years of experience as an Executive Assistant, Personal Assistant, or in Operations
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills
- Very strong organization, attention to detail, and dependability
- Comfortable with technology and digitally fluent; IT proficiency is a plus
- Ability to work with discretion, professionalism, and trustworthiness
- Good judgment and a real interest in the creative world
- Willingness to sign and work under an NDA
Additional details
The schedule is Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with a mix of onsite and remote work. Compensation is $110,000 to $120,000 per year, depending on experience.
