Job description

Role overview

A well-known playwright in Brooklyn Heights is hiring a full-time Executive Assistant to support both professional and personal operations. The right person will be highly organized, tactful, and able to take initiative across communication, scheduling, and day-to-day logistics so the principal can stay focused on creative work.

What you will do

The role covers a wide mix of responsibilities, from managing day-to-day correspondence to coordinating household and work-related logistics. You will help keep the principal’s calendar efficient, support planning across multiple priorities, and make sure tasks move forward smoothly without constant direction.

  • Handle all email communication, including drafting replies and sending messages on the principal’s behalf
  • Build and maintain a strategic calendar that supports creative output, self-care, and family scheduling
  • Communicate with agents, producers, press contacts, industry professionals, household staff, family staff, and vendors
  • Monitor progress on several simultaneous projects
  • Arrange travel and prepare detailed itineraries
  • Manage RSVPs, event logistics, and social commitments
  • Oversee household administration, including identifying vendors and coordinating repairs
  • Improve and maintain systems and procedures
  • Order and track office and home supplies
  • Anticipate the principal’s needs and act proactively
  • Research professional and personal projects as needed
  • Run errands and handle other tasks that come up

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree from a strong U.S. college or an equivalent qualification
  • At least 4 years of experience as an Executive Assistant, Personal Assistant, or in Operations
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills
  • Very strong organization, attention to detail, and dependability
  • Comfortable with technology and digitally fluent; IT proficiency is a plus
  • Ability to work with discretion, professionalism, and trustworthiness
  • Good judgment and a real interest in the creative world
  • Willingness to sign and work under an NDA

Additional details

The schedule is Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with a mix of onsite and remote work. Compensation is $110,000 to $120,000 per year, depending on experience.
