Job description
Role Overview
The International GCSE Mathematics Examiner is responsible for evaluating candidates' responses according to a detailed mark scheme, ensuring all marking standards and examination protocols are strictly followed. Most assessments are conducted digitally via ePEN from home; however, some subjects may still require traditional paper-based marking. Examination requires a thorough mastery of subject matter to accurately apply marking criteria. Each examiner is assigned a set number of scripts to mark.
Key Responsibilities
- Consistently and accurately mark candidate scripts to uphold high-quality standards
- Submit sample markings to the Team Leader within allocated deadlines
- Adhere to all marking milestones and schedules
- Complete all administrative tasks as instructed
Experience and Qualifications
- At least one academic year of teaching experience within the last eight years
- Teaching experience must be in the relevant qualification subject area
- Experience gained after formal teaching qualification
- A degree or equivalent qualification
- Qualified teacher status
Required Competencies
- Capacity to work effectively under pressure
- Ability to meet all specified deadlines
- Strong expertise in subject matter to ensure precise application of the mark scheme
Additional Details
- Marking period occurs annually from May to July
- Mandatory training sessions for examiners are conducted between May and June
