This consultancy role is designed to support the Accelerated Disease Control (ADC) team within UNICEF's Immunization programme, focusing on enhancing program monitoring, outbreak intelligence, prevention and response initiatives, partnership collaboration, and data-driven evidence translation centered on vaccine-preventable diseases (VPDs) affecting children, adolescents, and caregivers.

Key Responsibilities

• Facilitate comprehensive programme implementation monitoring efforts.
• Oversee outbreak surveillance and intelligence gathering activities to swiftly identify potential disease threats.
• Contribute to outbreak prevention, preparedness, and responsive measures to curb disease spread.
• Manage and coordinate partnerships relevant to immunization and outbreak control efforts.
• Generate, analyze, and translate scientific evidence to guide programmatic decisions and policy.

Qualifications and Experience

• Master’s degree in Public Health, Health Sciences, Social Sciences, Humanities, or closely related field.
• At least 8 to 10 years of extensive professional experience managing immunization programs, outbreak preparedness and response, pandemic planning, monitoring implementation, and evidence generation targeting disease prevention.
• Fluency in English is mandatory; proficiency in other official UN languages such as French, Arabic, Chinese, Russian, or Spanish is considered advantageous.

Skills and Expertise

• Strong analytical capabilities and proficiency with data systems.
• Deep understanding of immunization strategies and vaccine-preventable diseases.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical reporting and stakeholder interaction.
• Desirable experience includes collaboration with organizations like UNICEF, WHO, CDC, or Gavi.
