About the Role

At HIMSS, we are dedicated to advancing health and wellness through innovative approaches in information and technology. The Event Content Specialist is a vital member of the Global Content & Insights team, responsible for curating and managing high-impact content and orchestrating exceptional experiences at both in-person and virtual events. This position is instrumental in supporting the organization's mission by working closely across departments to enhance attendee and sponsor engagement, and ultimately, broaden the global influence of HIMSS.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide end-to-end management of speaker and moderator relationships, overseeing tasks from sourcing to post-event follow-up.
  • Organize and maintain standardized processes for speaker confirmation, preparation, and feedback across multiple events.
  • Facilitate meetings for session and panel preparation and supply administrative assistance to event committees and advisory boards.
  • Ensure speaker agreements are in place and coordinate with Finance for timely processing of travel reimbursements or honoraria.
  • Assist senior leaders in content programming, including handling calls for speakers and managing session logistics.
  • Regularly update event websites and applications with the latest speaker and agenda details.
  • Utilize the HIMSS speaker management platform for onboarding, agenda updates, and talent tracking.
  • Maintain program documentation, ensure data accuracy, and conduct data hygiene checks.
  • Lead the speakers bureau and collaborate with global and chapter content teams to expand speaker access.
  • Offer onsite event support as required, with travel obligations approximately three times a year.
  • Undertake additional duties to advance the organization's strategic goals.

Required Qualifications

  • Must reside in one of these eligible states: AL, CA, CO, DC, DE, FL, GA, IL, IN, KS, KY, MA, MD, ME, MI, MO, NC, NH, NJ, NV, NY, OH, PA, SC, TN, TX, UT, VA, VT, WA, WI.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, communications, project management, or a related discipline.
  • 3-5 years of professional experience in event content management, ideally in healthcare or technology industries with direct interaction with external experts.
  • Exceptional project management skills and the ability to navigate multiple priorities.
  • Strong communicator with proficiency in engaging diverse stakeholders.
  • Thorough familiarity with streaming tech, event registration platforms, Microsoft Office suite, and preferred experience with Events Air, Monday.Com, and Salesforce.
  • Proven ability to leverage various systems, including registration and content management platforms.
